I took this photo of Lucy in our little wood and it reminded me of one of Kipling’s Just So Stories – The Cat That Walked by Himself.

It is a lovely picture. Ok, it is a cat, but still lovely. 😉

Caite I should have been at the other end of the path – but although she is a cat who walks by herself she is also a cat who walks towards the camera every time she sees it in my hand! I have to sneak up to her to take a photo without her knowing I’m there – usually only possible when she’s asleep and sometimes not even then.

Ha! Yes, I was thinking the same, turn her around 🙂 That’s a great story, we teach it to our pre-school kids.
Here’s mine – slightly different to the usual photo but I wanted so much to share this to everyone, it’s such an important book for women.

Another example of life imitating art. What a literary cat Lucy is.

Margaret – That’s a lovely picture of Lucy. Isn’t it interesting how many parallels there are between fiction and reality…

About 10 years ago, my h and I house sat in Prince Edward Island for the summer. The 2 cats of the house used to follow us out on walks to the beach.

I just love this! What kind of trees are they?

The trees are nearly all sycamores in this part of the garden.

As a non-cat person I’ve never given up trying to understand why ‘the cat that walked by herself’ describes me to a tee.
