Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. For the rules see her blog. The topic this week is Books with Animals in the Titles/on the Covers
These are all books I’ve read.

Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz
The Guest Cat by Takashi Hiraide
The Crow Trap by Ann Cleeves
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
How to Catch a Mole by Marc Hamer
Cat Among the Pigeons by Agatha Christie
The Case of the Lame Canary by Erle Stanley Gardner
Catching the Eagle by Karen Charlton
The Raven’s Head by Karen Maitland
Black Dogs by Ian McEwan
Well done for finding ten books with animals both in the title and on the cover! I’ve read a few of these – Magpie Murders, To Kill a Mockingbird, Cat Among the Pigeons and The Raven’s Head – but didn’t include any of them on my own list.

Thanks for reminding me to read The Guest Cat! I haven’t included any birds in my list, so it’s cool to see your bird covers. I especially like Magpie Murders.

Well they do look cute – but when you’ve got mole hills all over the lawn you no longer find them cute.

Our book club has chosen Magpie Murders for an upcoming read, so I’ll be trying that one soon.

I like your choices, Margaret! Cat Among the Pigeons is such an interesting look at a girls school, and I love the character of Julia Upjohn. And I did like Magpie Murders. That ‘story within a story’ concept can work really well.

Magpie Murders is such a complicated book. I’ve been watching the TV adaptation and it’s made me want to re-read it.

What a fun topic, and a great selection! I keep track of animals in titles in all my end-of-year round-ups, so should have a delve…

I’m looking forward to your end-of-year-round ups, Simon.

I realised doing the topic this week just how many book covers have birds on them, and your list has further solidified that for me-cover artists clearly really love a bird!

I will have to check out The Guest Cat! Seems like a book Elza will read. Cat amongst the pigeons is a really good Agatha Christie!
Loved loved loved Magpie Murders and I also have To Kill a Mockingbird!
