Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl.
The topic this week is a Freebie. I decided to choose: Books I’ve Recently Added to My TBR List.

- These Dark Places by Hilary Tailor – Some secrets should stay buried. Her husband’s won’t.
- The Death Lesson by Sarah Ward – A taut and twisty crime thriller set in the wilds of West Wales.
- The Dark Wives by Ann Cleeves – the 11th Vera Stanhope murder mystery.
- Shy Creatures by Clare Chambers – a story of love, family and the joy of freedom.
- Quartet in Autumn by Barbara Pym – Darkly funny and full of stubborn optimism.
- Good Days by Michael Rosen – An A-Z of hope and happiness with 26 ideas for bringing joy into every day.
- Maigret and the Old People by Georges Simenon – The death of a beloved former ambassador unearths disturbing truths.
- Tai-Pan by James Clavell – historical fiction set in Hong Kong in the 1840s.
- Where the Sea Lavender Grows by Kitty Johnson – historical fiction with dual timelines in the present day and the 1940s.
- Diddly Squat: a Year on the Farm by Jeremy Clarkson – a behind-the-scenes look at the infamous Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire.
These are great choices, Margaret! I like Sarah Ward’s work very much. And it’s hard to go far wrong with Ann Cleeves, in my opinion. The others look very interesting, too!

I agree, Margot. It’s hard to know which one to read first – maybe with The Death Lesson, but I’m the mood for finding what Michael Rosen says about Good Days!

That Barbara Pym book is on my TBR, too. I keep wanting to read something by her and not following through to make it happen!

I’ve read some of hers and enjoyed them. I hope you’ll enjoy Quartet in Autumn when you do get round to reading it.

Other books keeping crowing her out. I think I will go to the library webpage right now and place a hold on the book.

I feel like my oldest daughter might enjoy reading Diddly Squat as she enjoys watching Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear and anything to do with farms.

I haven’t heard of any of them, but most same to be mystery/thriller adjacent which is not really my genre anymore. I get bored way too easily with them now as I’ve read the genre a lot in the past.

I know what you mean about reading a lot of one genre, which is why these are not all crime fiction – I like a variety of different genres.
