Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. For the rules see her blog.
The topic this week is Authors (or books by authors) Who Live In My State/Country. I live in the UK. I’ve chosen authors who live/have lived in two Counties of the UK – Northumberland, where I now live and Buckinghamshire, where I used to live. The titles marked with * are linked to my reviews and the rest to Goodreads.

Northumberland:
- L J Ross — Holy Island – crime fiction (DCI Ryan)
- Tricia Cresswell – The Midwife – historical fiction
- Karen Charlton – Catching the Eagle – historical fiction*
- Ann Cleeves – The Glass Room – crime fiction (Vera Stanhope)*
- Mari Hannah – The Lost – crime fiction (DS Frankie Oliver and DI David Stone)
Buckinghamshire
- Enid Blyton – The Magic Faraway Tree – children’s fiction
- Jerome K Jerome – Three Men and a Boat – comedy and travel classic
- Terry Pratchett – The Colour of Magic – Discworld, fantasy
- John Milton – Paradise Lost – classic poetry
- Roald Dahl – Matilda – children’s fiction
Have you read any of them?
Goodness, Margaret, there are some talented authors who hail from where you’ve lived! From Ann Cleeves to Roald Dahl (and a lot in between!), you’ve chosen some gifted authors here. I like this idea for a theme, too.

Nice–aside from the classics in the bottom row (all of them) I hadn’t heard of any of the authors. That’s always great–I love finding new-to-me authors. Good work!

Pratchett and Blyton are the two that caught my attention from this list!

I enjoy Ann Cleeves’ books, but I am WAY behind in reading them. I need to fix that!
Happy TTT!

How interesting. I used to live in Bucks but apart from Terry Pratchett (who lived in the same town as I did) and Roald Dahl (who lived in the next village), I didn’t know the others had lived there. Funnily enough, I have read books by the authors from Bucks but not from Northumberland. LOL
Here is my list of German authors.
