Today we woke up to the first snow of this winter. It wasn’t forecast! My new header shows the front garden and the photo below is of our back garden. See another photo David took this morning – here. As you’ll see he wished for snow!
A Saturday Snapshot post – see more on Alyce’s blog At Home with Books.
First snows are the most beautiful, I think. We just had our first snow yesterday, too!

So pretty in the woods. Snow should never, ever fall on asphalt.

I love your blog header and the first snowfall is always special (except for us when it came on October 29th this year).

Beautiful. But I don’t want any down here until Christmas or the new year!

No snow here yet (knock on wood!) I am loving it being an anti-snow girl myself… but I do live in Minnesota so I know that this is not going to stay….

So pretty, but so cold! We had snow yesterday and bright sunshine today, but it is freezing!

Gosh! Not a hint of snow in Oxfordshire yet… but it is bitterly cold.

Glorious! In Alabama, if we get snow, it never comes at an appropriate time. It seems to favor odd weekends in March!

That looks wonderful and Christmasy! I love the header photo too! I’ve only had one white Christmas in my life, so I cross my fingers ever year.

Love the new header. We might have snow this week-end… it is never fun in the Pac NW since it is always wet and sloppy stuff and we don’t know how to drive in it! Ha!

I was admiring the photo in your header even before reading your post…what a wonderful view! I love newly fallen snow, so clean and beautiful. Great bench in your backyard
Maybe you’ll have snow for Christmas, lucky!

Two lovely photos. Although your garden bench looks cold and desolate rather than inviting at this time of year.

Lovely photos. Snow always looks nice, though I prefer it at a distance 🙂
