Is it Autumn Already?

It’s not even August and already there are signs that autumn is on its way! In our garden the leaves are turning yellow.

And some have already fallen to the ground.

I’ll have to change my header photo!

An ABC Wednesday post for the letter A.

  1. Margaret – I know what you mean. The seasons go by so quickly, don’t they? Well, as skilled as you are with the camera, finding a good header ‘photo will, I am sure, not be a problem.

  2. I don’t know about autumn being here. We’re due for high 90’s tomorrow and possibly 100 on Friday’”both accompanied by humidity. I don’t want to rush into autumn, nut possibly a bit cooler.

  3. We were saying the same thing just the other day! Not even August and the leaves are tumbling from the trees! Apparently, the main factor affecting leaf colour change and fall is the lengthening, cool nights of autumn. So why is this happening now?

  4. We’ve been having a miserable July after a very nice June. It feels like autumn here as it’s raining a lot. I haven’t even had to get one fan out…yet!

  5. It definitely feels like autumn here in Fife at the moment. I noticed just yesterday that some leaves were falling onto our grass already. A ground frost is forecast for further north!

  6. Hi Margaret,
We noticed the same thing happening down here, in Somerset.
It appears that we don’t get ‘seasons’ as we always used to, and certainly as I remember from my childhood.
Personally, I would rather have Spring and Autumn, than Summer anyway, but to see the leaves falling so soon, is a little depressing!!
