Saturday Snapshot: Spring Flowers

DaffodilsIt’s spring at last!

Yesterday was beautiful – sunny, with blue skies – but still quite cold and breezy. Today promises to be the same. The daffodils are out (actually they have been for a few days now). I like to see them growing but it’s been so windy recently that I rescued these and brought them inside.

  1. They look so pretty! I am always happy to see them finally pop out of the ground after a long winter. We are having a delayed spring in the Midwestern US. My daffodils have barely poked up their heads.

  2. Hi Margaret,

I think that spring has finally arrived, today has been beautiful and sunny, although still a little chilly if you are in the shade. Tomorrow doesn’t look too promising however.

The daffs have been out for quite some time down here in Somerset, in fact they have all gone over in several places. I did notice that one of the early flowering purple azaleas is in bloom in our garden, a sure sign that things must be warming up.

I love the way you have positioned the rabbit so that he is gazing up at the flowers, he is probably wishing that he could get at those delicious looking heads and have a nibble!!

    Have a good weekend,

    Yvonne

  3. Many thanks for these comments.

Some of you mentioned the rabbit – it’s a favourite of mine and usually lives on the hearth. I did think it looked good next to the flowers gazing up longingly at them, so I’m glad you thought so too.

  4. I’ve wandered lonely as a cloud, but have yet to stumble upon a host of golden daffodils. These are heavenly–I love yellow flowers, but mine are buried under a foot of snow at the moment!

  6. I like the little statues beside the vase, too. My daffs have just begun to open, and it is such a treat to see yellow!!
