We went to get the car MOT’d yesterday. Whilst we were waiting we walked down the road a little way to the Animal Rescue Kennels – just to have a look, you know. Actually we’d been thinking about going there for months, but yesterday was the day. And look who came home with us:

She’s two years old and a little timid and camera shy at the moment, but I managed to take this picture. Whitie, that’s the name she knows, so I think we’ll carry on calling her that – she comes when you call her name, is sitting where Lucy used to sit – on the computer room windowsill. Lucy died a year last January and it’s taken us this long to feel it’s right to get another cat. She’s seems to be settling quite well.
Here she is deciding whether to sit down or not – she did and she’s sitting there now as I type.

Here’s another photo – taken last night in the kitchen:

No doubt there’ll be a few more photos soon.

Isn’t she pretty? Love her little “hat” of color. Welcome to Whitie!

Aww so sweet! Her markings are so interesting just over her ears like that. And it looks like her tail too? I can’t quite tell. I would have brought her home too 🙂

I love her patches of colour – round her ears, on her chin and her tail – yes, Trish her tail is dark brown and tan mainly – ending in a circle of tan where her tail joins her back. I can’t imagine anyone giving her up to the Animal Rescue Kennels, but apparently her owners were moving and had too many cats – they brought her and two others in for re-homing! The other two had already got new owners!

So precious! I love her eyes….and even the tentative settling in is adorable.
I got my last cat (Sasha) at the animal shelter and kept her until I had to “adopt” her out to friends when I moved.
Sad….
Enjoy your new little friend.

She’s really cute. I hope she gets to enjoy a long and happy life with you.
Looking at her makes me want to stretch out my hand and pet our cat, but he’s asleep and to cute to disturb 🙂

Great to see that she’s getting comfortable so quickly. I always laugh at my cats when we move to a new place. The older cat hides in the basement for 2 days, certain that we’ve moved to a house full of predators that he must watch out for. Here’s Mine

Aww, what a sweetheart. I want to kiss her right on the nose.
My own cat, Jack, does that very thing Whitie is doing in the last picture. Lays on his side and then I rub his back and he balls up his front paws like fists, like he’s kneading the air, which I interpret to mean “Me like that, dad!”

Congratulations on the new family member! All my cats have been white or black, so I love her already.

Aww, she’s sweet! It looks like she’s settling in nicely. I took Romulus to the local shelter to be fixed and saw so many cute kitties but I’m really only a one cat at a time person.

How anyone could go to the Animal Rescue Kennel and not come out with at least one animal is beyond me. And such a sweetie you got!

I’m glad she’s settling in so well. When the dog I’d had for 16 years died, it took me a long time before I felt like sharing my life with another dog. They’re family, plain and simple.

How adorable! We can’t have kitties because too many in my house have allergies. But I love to visit kitties when friends have them.
