A few years ago we had a holiday in the Cotswolds and visited Burford in Oxfordshire. We had welcome cup of tea and cakes in The Copper Kettle on the High Street.
This is the view looking down the High Street.
The building dates back to around 1500.
See more Saturday Snapshots on Alyce’s blog, At Home With Books.
You can certainly see the history in the walls, and beams of the building. Quite extraordinary.

The first thing I noticed was how the cars are parked in different directions!!! Can’t do that here:) I love the quaint feel for the of this town and it’s restaurants and shops.

A cozy dining room and inviting store front. Thanks for sharing these pictures.
How would the cars get out if parked the wrong way?

The Cotswolds are beautiful and those are great pix!
When I was there, I visited an old stone church on a hill and a church my friend said was the one in Thomas Hardy’s Tess but I can’t find those pix now. My notes are lost, too. Sigh.

How quaint.
I would just love to visit places of such rich history, and chat with the locals.
Plus, I’m sure they had coffee in one of those kettles there. And I’ve always got time for a shot of my elixir!
Great pics.

Old buildings like that are so neat! I’ve only ever been to a few that old, one of which was a pub in Manchester – the big wood beams in your photo remind me of those in the pub.

What a lovely little village. The street view reminds me of Bath and the tea room reminds me of a little place in Salisbury where we ate lunch before visiting the Cathedral. I love England!
