The one I haven’t finished is Strangers on a Train by Patricia Highsmith, but I have started it and I will finish it.
My thanks to Cathy at 746 Books for hosting this event once more this year!
I do like Cath Staincliffe’s writing, Margaret, so it’s good to see that among your top picks. And Ruth Rendell was so talented; I’ve never been disappointed in any of her work that I’ve read. I’d like to try Pat Barker’s work (I haven’t yet, but your reviews have piqued my interest!).

Well done! I’m looking forward to reading The Voyage Home as I enjoyed the first two in the trilogy.

I hope you’ll enjoy The Voyage Home as much as the other two.

You did ‘really’ well, Margaret. I don’t think I’ve ever managed the 20 books when I’ve done this challenge. Back in 2014 I read Dirk Bogarde’s, For the Time Being, a book of essays and book reviews which was excellent. I said I would read more by him and I haven’t… your mention of Great Meadow reminds me that I must get around to that.

Good for you, Margaret. 20 books is a lot over the summer. I read Stranger On A Train a long time ago and enjoyed it. The themes from that one have been an inspiration for many authors over the years. Hope you had a good enough summer and Happy September! Fall is coming. Take care!

Thanks, Kay – the summer’s been wet and September’s started off wet too. But enjoyable anyway.

I didn’t realise The Silence of the Girls was part of a trilogy, I loved it so must get reading!

Well done! You had some chunky reads in there, too. Glad you found most of them enjoyable – that’s always the sign of a good challenge!
