Here’s another challenge I can’t ignore! It’s hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. It involves reading a book predominantly set in each of the twelve time periods.
I read a lot of historical fiction so I’m hoping I’ll find a book for each of these periods.
- Pre-1300:
- 1300-1499:
- 1500-1699:
- 1700-1799:
- 1800-1899:
- 1900-1919:
- 1920-1939:
- 1940-1959:
- 1960-1979:
- 1980-1999:
- 2000-Present:
- The Future:
Determination of what year a book belongs in is the decision of the participant. On the whole, choose a year where the largest part of the action occurs or the most important event.
I looked at this, but I’m not a great fan of historical fiction (although as a teenager I couldn’t get enough of it) so passed. I hope you enjoy the reading.

Thanks – I’ve been reading more historical fiction recently so it fits in well with my reading.

When I saw this I thought it involved reading a book WRITTEN in each of those periods. Reading books SET in the period is much more manageable. Hope you enjoy the experience

Yes I thought that at first too – and thought it was impossible. Glad I got it wrong.

This is an interesting challenge, Margaret. It certainly gives the opportunity to really explore historical fiction (which I like). I’ll be interested in the books you read for this one.

I don’t read as much historical fiction as you so am not tempted by this one. Thank goodness!!! LOL

I would like this challenge, but so many books span many centuries (I’m thinking Rutherford and Michener and even Follett). Have fun!

I hadn’t thought of that – but you’re right!
