I’ve not had much time for blogging in the last few days as I’ve been tidying up the garden, mowing the lawn, cutting things back etc. These are the last roses of the year:

Lovely. Despite a couple of frosts we stll have fuchsias beautifully in flower but the hostas have gone.

You may be surprised when I tell you that despite being so much further north than you, Cath, we have not had one frost yet. Lots of dewy damp and chilly mornings but no frost! Still, Summer Time is now over and the clocks have gone back so I expect the colder weather will soon be here.

Beautiful roses. We still have a few – and remarkably, this afternoon I discovered my nerines are in bud. Will the weather be kind to them I wonder?
