I have just seen a comment of yours on Stuck in A Book about children’s books and nearly fell off my seat with surprise because up until then I had never heard about anyone else who had read The Turf Cutter’s Donkey!
It was bought for me in the 1960’s by my Co Kerry born granddad and was a real source of fascination as I had never read anything quite like it before.
I think I had a second book by Patricia Lynch as well but I can’t remember its name but by a peculiar quirk of coincidence The Turf Cutter’s Donkey re-surfaced in a box of books in the attic the other day so I think I might revisit my childhood with it this weekend.
Wow, what a thought provoking image to stumble upon early this morning! wonderful
happy ww!
