Today’s Saturday Snapshot photo is an old one from years ago, when we visited Brittany. We were camping next to the site of these Standing Stones at Carnac. Some of the stones are huge – my husband and son are standing in front of one of the stones in the background.
Hi!
Great snapshot! They do look rather large. Have a great day!

It amazes me how many standing stones there are besides Stonehenge. Thanks for including the wiki link – I feel like I learned something this morning! :)

Oh, that brings back memories. When I was there, you were no longer allowed to walk through the stones because they were in danger of toppling form all the people getting too close. I remember being fascinated by how straight the lines were (there was an observation tower). And of course I was reminded of one of my favourite comics: Asterix ;)

Very nice! It’s a shame (per Jennifer’s post) that people can’t walk among them any more.

Very interesting! BTW…did the chicks hatch yet, and I missed it?

Thanks for your comments. I took this photo over 20 years ago and looking at and and reading your comments about how it’s not an open site any more has made me think of writing more about my fascination with Standing Stones – so watch out for a post on that some time soon.
Diane, sorry you missed the chicks hatching. I’ve emailed you the links. The baby collared doves look as though they’ll be leaving the nest any day now. I’ll post an update when they do.

We went about 8 or 9 years ago and were amazed at it all. I had no idea it was no longer an open site. Glad we saw them when we did.
