I read 7 books in September – 5 fiction – 4 of them were crime fiction – and 2 non-fiction.
- Seeking Whom He May Devour by Fred Vargas
- The Naming of the Dead by Ian Rankin
- Flodden by Niall Barr (scan read part) – post to come later
- The Tent, the Bucket and Me by Emma Kennedy
- The Fall by Simon Mawer
- The ABC Murders by Agatha Christie
- Blood Safari by Deon Meyer
My book of the month is Agatha Christie The ABC Murderers, although the others were all enjoyable reads.
Looking Ahead
Currently I’m reading Agatha Christie’s Autobiography and Heartstone by C J Sansom and hope to finish these in October. I’ve also started A Change in Altitude by Anita Shreve and after that I’d like to read Bram Stoker’s Dracula and maybe The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. And I must read Salmon Fishing in the Yemen by Paul Torday as I’ve joined a local Book Group and that is the book we’ll be discussing at the end of the month.
That’s a great list, Margaret. I found The Turn of the Screw delightfully creepy when I read it in university. I wonder how it would stand up now.
