Salmon and Broccoli Fishcakes, or how to make a mess in the kitchen.
Simply steam the salmon in the microwave with a bay leaf and a little white wine. When cooked, flake into small pieces.
Add some cooked broccoli florets and cooked
mashed potato, salt and pepper, mixed herbs and an egg yolk.
With damp hands form into whatever size cakes you want, coat in flour, dip into beaten egg white and coat in breadcrumbs.
Then fry, turning once, until golden brown and crisp, drain on kitchen paper.
You then have sticky, eggy, breadcrumby hands and a mess in the kitchen as well as
delicious fishcakes.

I have never made fishcakes – this looks easy and delicious!

Can’t say that I ever saw salmon cakes made from fresh salmon…canned yes, but not fresh. This would be way better.

Going to send this recipe to my mom who loves salmon and gets it deliciously fresh in Alaksa! Why does it taste better in Alaska than in Michigan? LOL

This looks delicious. I’ve never made fish cakes with salmon and/or broccoli before but it sounds terrific. My husband loves salmon so I’m going to give it a try. I don’t mind a messy kitchen. It’s just means I’ve had a good time.

Oh wow!!! Those look fabulous. I love salmon patties but my recipe pales in comparison to yours. This is one I’m making next time. And I can handle the messy hands and kitchen.

Sounds great. I make crab cakes pretty often being in Alaska and all but Salmon Cake with Brocoli never. So I might try that out really soon. That sounds yummy.
