Looking back again into old family photos I came across this one of me when I was a Brownie:
This was taken in our back garden when I was about 7 or 8 and you can just see my little sister coming into the photo. I loved being a Brownie.

Another Brownie here. That was fun. I remember becoming a Girl Scout, but then our troop disbanded and I didn’t join another.

I loved being a Brownie too. I was Sixer of the Kelpies! I liked the old uniforms, they changed over to the new ones whilst I was in the Brownies – hated the tie.

Oh did you have one of the beanie hats? Lucky you – we had stupid berets in the late 60’s and I could never get mine to stay on!

I was a Brownie for bit, with a uniform just like your’s. I always struggled to fold the tie and get the knot right – even now I have to chant the reef knot mantra ‘left over right and under, right over left and under’. And I still do it wrong and end up with a granny knot!
